  14. Get flour or cornstarch
  15. Make ready Spring onion
  16. Get Little oil

The taste of the meat pie was very bland. Didn't like this recipe at all. Maybe if you were to add more spices to it it would make it a better Good but in my opinion not quite as good as the Meat Pie (Tourtiere). But because I think it has more of an 'expected' taste it might.

Steps to make My classic meatpie:
  1. In a bowl add flour,to the flour add cold butter,i mean cold very cold(it gives the meatpie that flakeness 😍)mix it well till the butter is well combined with the flour,(till it looks like breadcrumbs)to it add pinch of salt,sugar nd baking powder mixxxxxx,add in beaten egg mix nd add water(cold water)not from fridge oo just nrml water,add it gradually gradullay till you foam a soft not too hard not too soft dough.close with clingfilm nd keep aside.
  2. In a pan add chopped onion+oil,toast am little,now add the chopped meat chunks stir,stir,stir till the meat begin to cooks nd the onion become soft,now add ginger,curry nd stir fry for 1 mins,add in scotch bonnet,carrot nd green pepper,stir for few sec now add seasonings nd stir fry it for 2 mins,in a small ball add little water to cornstarch or flour(i use flour)to make a watery mix,add it to the filing nd stir well,u will see it will instantly become thick now reduce the heat add more onion,
  3. Nd close with a lid,1 mins later,takeoff heat add spring onion stir,close with lid nd let it cool.
  4. Using a meatpie shaper or any round obeject:roll out the dough,remove a circle shape add in filing nd close it by using a fork on both edges,(i close mine with meatpie shaper then use a fork again to sealed it) now preheat oven to 250F,egg wash ur meatpie nd bake for 15-mins till ur desired golden brown is achieved
  5. Enjoy.
