Instructions to make Pear upside down cake:
  1. Cut and peel the pears. Caramelize the pears in thick pan with brown sugar.
  2. Mix butter, essence and sugar until it is smooth.
  3. Whip the eggs until fluffy, add in mixture of butter, add youghurt. Add oil slowly.
  4. Fold salt, flour and baking powder in mixture.
  5. Arrange pears in mould and pour the cake mix. Bake it at 175 degree Celsius for 40 minutes.
  6. Serve with Berries and vanilla sauce.

Granted, I had never really been a huge fan of Pineapple Upside-Down Cake. A delicate upside-down cake that showcases pears. I sauteed four perfectly ripe Bartlett pears with a knob of butter to bring out their best flavour. The cake mixture is super quick and easy to make, and I add ground almonds to make the cake lighter in texture. Ground almonds can be substituted with plain flour though.
